WELDING CHECK DURING RECONDITIONING

WHY THE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS BREAK IT

Many operators are not interested in selling and changing their attraction, which is then used for many years. Many therefore wonder if it is really possible that a component of the ride could present cracks and break. They wonder how it is possible for a welded piece to break.

Based on our experience we can say that it is absolutely probable that a mechanical component of a ride begins to present weld cracks and finally that it can break. Breakage occurs due to fatigue due to the number of operating cycles over years and years of use.

The right question is when a break can occur. There is no mathematical answer. We can say that a mechanical component will have a longer life when it has been designed and built well, when the welders who performed the weldings were good and careful and if the manufacturer proceeded to perform quality checks. Only in the last 10/15 years the most careful manufacturers carry out a production cycle with a good quality process, with more careful controls. All rides built over 15/20 years have absolutely a medium/low quality process.

WHO CAN PERFORM INSPECTIONS

There is an international regulation that establishes the minimum requirements that a technician must have to perform these checks. Technicians with specific experience of rides help you to identify the most sensitive and important points.

The technician must provide the operator with a complete report including images showing that the activity was actually carried out and with what methodology was used.
